Take a Look Outside the Box (A Dull Blue Light)
A dull blue light
Consumes our eyes
Blocking our minds
Burning our vision
A life leaves in it
Lives lead in it
Crossing wills
Crossing ways
Only one fate is held
And flicker, flicker
In the dark
A person who's learned to fake
Fake their own existance
A shell that's still, that's dead
And yet it breathes
It gains without learning
It uses, only half knowing
What on earth it says
A slave
All dictated by the fake light
The lying light
That lives in stale air
The gift it gives to its user
And still it is used
Despite the bruise
The impression
Left on the brain
"I can't give it up!"
They say,
"It's not ruling me!"
They lie
But they can only lie to themselves
Everyone else sees
The problem, the addiction
And yet are completely oblivious
To their own.
"Wait," they say, "Wait."
And out comes the screen
The dull blue light
Glaring evilly,
Savoring the life it rules.
"Only a minute."
They murmur,
Breathing the stale air,
The blue-white square
Or rectangle
Boring into their eyes,
Making them dull
Making them die
No response, nor again
But no one cries
It's only natural,
After all, if you're not on it
You're dead to the world.
